No doubt you've all heard the saying, "you are what you eat", but have you ever thought to take that realism one step further and consider that you are also what drugs, prescriptions or medicines you eat, too?
The Chinese, for instance, have been successfully treating illnesses and various medical conditions with food for thousands of years and believe that you should
"Treat an illness first with food. Only if this fails should medicine be prescribed." (Sun Simao, court physician in the Tang Dynasty).
From shark's fin to tangerine peel and everything in between, every food source on our planet is its own self-contained medicine cabinet.
The really great news about treating illness or disease with food instead of drugs is that, although it may take longer to achieve the results you desire, in most cases the imbalance in your system will be corrected, rather than just suppressing the symptoms with fast-acting drugs which you must continue to ingest perhaps for a lifetime because your symptoms still remain.
Rather than addressing the cause of dysfunction in your body, when you simply mask symptoms with powerful drugs, the disease in your body will inevitably progress to an increasingly worse state until your body can no longer function, either from the burden of unnatural drugs in your body and/or the progression of your illness or disease to the point of total debilitation.
