"Can
Your Ice Cream Kill You?"
Have you ever stopped to consider what's actually in that ice cream you've been buying for your kids or enjoying yourself?
Sometimes ignorance can be bliss and this may be especially so with many well known brands of ice cream crowding the freezer shelves in your local supermarket.
Ice cream has long been the North American dessert of choice and it was probably one of the first treats you can remember falling in love with as a child.
I'm sorry to burst your ice cream bubble, but you really should know that ice cream manufacturers are not required by law to list the additives they are using in those tempting ice cream tubs and treats.
What does this mean to you? Simply that today most ice creams are so far from natural that they are not fit for man nor beast to consume.
Ice cream manufacturers are giving us 101 delicious flavors, but at what cost to our health?
The ice cream industry is using chemicals to synthesize all those flavors, colors and creamy textures, and not just one or two chemicals, but over 100, and some of these chemicals are potent poisons that are certainly powerful enough to cause liver, kidney and heart damage.
For instance, benzyl acetate is used to create strawberry flavor and this chemical can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
Ethyl acetate is used to synthesize pineapple flavor and this is a substance that can cause liver, kidney and heart damage. As well it's used as a cleaner for leather and textiles.
Peperonal is another chemical that is used in the place of vanilla. This product is used to kill lice.
As well, vanillin is another chemical used to synthesize vanilla flavor and this chemical is made from the waste of wood pulp and despite its name has no relationship to the vanilla bean at all.
Then, if you prefer banana flavored ice cream, you'll find the chemical amyl butyrate, which is also used as an oil paint solvent. Yum.
And if you'd rather have cherry, how about a little aldehyde c 17, which is an inflammable liquid used in aniline dyes, plastic and rubber. Very tasty.
How about some nut flavored ice cream with a little butrakiehyde, one of the ingredients in rubber cement. That'll stick to your insides.
And don't forget the diethyl glycol, which is the same chemical used in antifreeze and paint removers. Because this chemical is cheap, it's used in many, many ice creams as an emulsifier in place of eggs and this chemical is sufficiently toxic to cause liver and kidney damage.
Did you know that the average American consumes 24 quarts of ice cream every year. That's a lot of antifreeze, lice killer and paint solvent.
Just a little research (and reading the labels) can make a BIG difference to your health and the health of those you care about. So, if you must eat ice cream, find an all natural one and the leave the chemicals in the paint remover and rubber cement, not in your ice cream.
