"Slimming Down for Summer"

Already we’re almost at the end of April and in a few months summer will be upon us, so now’s the time to lose those extra pounds, lower your blood pressure, improve your cholesterol levels and control your diabetes so you can enjoy all those summer activities even more.

There are many slimming foods that are not only healthy, but tasty too that can seriously help you get lean in a hurry. The following TOP TEN healthy foods contain everything you need to get started on your path to a super slim and healthy new you.

Oatmeal, for instance helps with slimming because it’s slow to digest, which gives you the feeling of long-lasting fullness while reducing cravings for fatty foods at the same time. Oatmeal is also a high fiber food which helps to clean your blood vessels which can reduce your risk for heart disease by as much as 29%.

Nuts also contain valuable nutrients that can lower your risk of heart attack by as much as 60%, and (in moderation) contrary to popular belief, they can actually help to slim you down because they contain monounsaturated fats that suppress appetite.

Other sources that are high in healthy monounsaturated fats include MacNut Oil (made from macadamia nuts), olive oil and olives. Monounsaturated fats react with the body’s chemistry to lower cholesterol and reduce high blood pressure, while reducing hunger pangs up to 70%.

Milk, cheese and yogurt contain nutrients that unlock fat cells and studies have proven that those who ate three servings of yogurt every day lost 61% more body fat than non-dairy dieters.

The natural isoflavones found in Soy speed up the breakdown of stored fat and also break down fat in your blood, which lowers the bad cholesterol and further helps reduce the risk of heart disease by 20%.

Studies have shown that fish and shellfish stimulate your metabolism more than any other types of protein, resulting in a 22% increase in weight loss compared to those who don’t eat fish. As well, fish is high in omega-3 fatty acids, known to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke by 30%.

Beans and peas are loaded with potassium to help reduce high blood pressure and stroke and can really help you slim down because they are one of nature’s richest sources of fiber. Foods that are high in fiber reduce hunger and block absorption of daily calories.

Garlic and onions break down fat deposits and cholesterol as well as naturally killing cold and flu viruses.

Spinach, lettuce and greens, besides being extremely low in calories, are great sources of hunger blocking fiber which also absorb up to 90 calories per day. As well, they contain concentrated doses of health-promoting antioxidants and vitamins.

Tomatoes can help you to slim down because they rev up your metabolism to help burn fat up to one third faster. As well as a great source of vitamin C, tomatoes also contain the antioxidant lycopene which is know to promote a healthy prostate while cutting the risk of heart disease by 29%.

So, if you’d like to slim down for summer, how about starting your day with a healthy bowl of slow-cooked oatmeal sprinkled with a little cinnamon or nutmeg. Add a little milk or soy and a cup of fresh fruit or a handful of raisins or dried fruit and you’ll be surprised how great something so healthy can taste.

How about time-saving healthy salads for lunch and dinner? Start with lots of salad greens and then add fruits, vegetables, beans and peas, soy beans, tofu and soy-based meat substitutes, seeds or nuts, any seafood, cheese or cottage cheese, fresh or dried herbs, and MacNut or Olive oil. Using just these ingredients you can make an endless array of tasty salads, while you watch those extra pounds melt away.

Now you’re ready for summer.
